Enter a post's interactions and your audience numbers, and get your engagement rate by followers and by reach. Works for any platform. No sign-up.
Quick answer Engagement rate = (likes + comments + shares + saves) ÷ audience × 100. Divide by followers for a stable trend you can compare over time, or by reach for how the people who actually saw the post responded. The calculator below computes both.
–
Interactions as a share of your total audience. Comparable from post to post and month to month.
–
Interactions as a share of the people who actually saw the post. Needs the reach figure from your analytics.
By followers: (likes + comments + shares + saves) ÷ followers × 100. A post with 120 interactions on a 4,000-follower account has a 3.0% engagement rate by followers. Use it to track your own trend: the denominator only moves when your audience does.
By reach: (likes + comments + shares + saves) ÷ reach × 100. The same 120 interactions on a post 2,400 people saw is a 5.0% rate by reach. Use it to judge the content itself: it ignores how many of your followers the algorithm chose to show it to.
Profile-level rate: compute the per-post rate for your recent posts (the last 10 to 30 is a common window) and average them. Averaging the rates, rather than pooling all interactions into one division, stops a single viral post from hiding a declining baseline.
Rates are only comparable when the ingredients are fixed: the same interaction types, the same denominator, the same window. That is exactly what PersonaXpand's analytics do across every connected platform, using each platform's official API and real returned values only. Pair the rate with posting when your audience is active and you are working on the two levers that move it.
PersonaXpand tracks engagement across every connected platform automatically, using real values from the official APIs. Free to start.
