LinkedIn engagement rate calculator

Enter a post's reactions, comments, reposts and saves, and get its engagement rate by impressions, members reached and followers. No sign-up, and no LinkedIn login.

Quick answer LinkedIn engagement rate = (reactions + comments + reposts + saves) ÷ impressions × 100. LinkedIn's own Page metric has the same shape but also counts clicks. Divide by members reached for unique people, or by followers for a trend.

Add sends on LinkedIn here too if you count them.
Optional.
Optional. Distinct members and Pages that saw the post.
Optional. Times the post was shown, repeats included.

By followers

Interactions as a share of your total audience. Comparable from post to post and month to month.

By members reached

Interactions as a share of the people who actually saw the post. Needs the reach figure from your analytics.

By impressions

Interactions as a share of impressions. These count repeats, so this rate runs at or below the reach rate.

What counts as engagement on LinkedIn

  • LinkedIn's post analytics list impressions, members reached, reactions, comments, reposts, saves and sends on LinkedIn.
  • Impressions count every time the post was shown. Members reached counts distinct members and Pages, so it is never higher than impressions.
  • LinkedIn's own engagement rate appears in Page analytics for Page admins: interactions per impression, where interactions include clicks, reactions, comments and shares. Personal post analytics show no rate.
  • This calculator leaves clicks out, because personal post analytics do not report them, so its number runs lower than LinkedIn's Page figure for the same post.

Where to find these numbers on LinkedIn

  • Click Me, then Manage, then Posts & Activity. Click the impressions count or View analytics under a post.
  • Only you can see your own post analytics.
  • Page admins see an engagement rate in the Page's analytics.

Measure it the same way every time

A rate is only comparable with itself: keep the same interaction types, the same denominator and the same window from week to week. The general engagement rate calculator explains the formulas in full.

LinkedIn engagement rate FAQs

How do I calculate engagement rate on LinkedIn?

Add the post's reactions, comments, reposts and saves, divide by its impressions and multiply by 100. That matches the shape of LinkedIn's own Page metric, which also includes clicks.

Does LinkedIn show engagement rate?

For Pages, yes: Page analytics show an engagement rate of interactions, clicks included, per impression. For your personal posts, LinkedIn shows the counts but no rate.

Impressions or members reached: which should I divide by?

Impressions is the closest to LinkedIn's own method. Members reached counts unique people, so it gives a higher rate for the same post. Pick one and keep it.

Why is my number lower than LinkedIn's Page engagement rate?

LinkedIn counts clicks as interactions. This calculator uses reactions, comments, reposts and saves only, so on the same impressions its rate comes out lower.
