Can LinkedIn post to X automatically?
No. Neither LinkedIn nor X offers a setting that copies your posts to the other. Guides that describe connecting your Twitter account inside LinkedIn are describing an option that no longer exists. Posting to both at once today means a scheduling tool that connects to each through its official API.
Why the same post rarely works on both
- Length. LinkedIn allows 3,000 characters and rewards a few short paragraphs. X allows 280 without Premium and rewards one sharp line.
- The hook. LinkedIn shows about the first 140 characters before “see more”. On X the whole post is the hook.
- Links. X counts every link as 23 characters, whatever its real length.
- Tone. LinkedIn readers expect context and a lesson; X readers expect an opinion.
- Hashtags. Three to five specific ones on LinkedIn, one or two at most on X.
How to post to LinkedIn and X together
- 1. Connect both accounts to a posting tool, each through its own official login.
- 2. Write the full idea as the LinkedIn version.
- 3. Cut the X version to the one line that carries it, with the link at the end.
- 4. Publish both now, or schedule them for the hour each audience is around: LinkedIn on working-day mornings, X when your followers are active.
Let each version write itself
Disclosure: PersonaXpand is our product. You write the idea once and choose LinkedIn, X and any of the other networks it posts to. Each network gets its own version in your voice: a few short paragraphs for LinkedIn, one line inside 280 characters for X. You can edit either before it goes, and post now or at a set time.
On X it also drafts replies to the people who answer you, in your own voice, for you to approve. LinkedIn doesn't open replies to outside tools, so those stay in your hands.
