Who can start a LinkedIn newsletter?
Anyone. LinkedIn's help centre puts it plainly: all LinkedIn members can create a newsletter, and admins of a LinkedIn Page can publish one from the Page. Guides that tell you to switch on Creator Mode first are out of date. LinkedIn removed the Creator Mode switch in March 2024 and made its tools, newsletters included, part of every profile.
How to create a LinkedIn newsletter
- 1. On LinkedIn on a computer, click Write article in the box at the top of your feed.
- 2. In the article editor, open the Manage menu at the top right.
- 3. Choose Create newsletter.
- 4. Add the name, how often you'll publish, a short description and a logo, then click Done.
- 5. Write the first edition in the same editor and publish it. Your connections and followers are invited to subscribe.
Choosing the name and rhythm
- Name it for the reader, not for you: what they get, in a few words.
- Pick a rhythm you'll keep. Monthly and kept beats weekly and dropped. The frequency shows on the subscribe page.
- Describe one promise. One sentence on what every edition gives the reader.
Getting each edition read
Subscribers are notified, but most of your readers will still find an edition through a normal post in their feed. Share each edition with a short post that gives away the most useful line, not just the link.
Disclosure: PersonaXpand is our product. It doesn't publish newsletter editions, but it writes and schedules the posts that send people to them: a LinkedIn post in your own voice, plus versions for X, Threads and your other networks, timed for when your audience is around.
