What are Instagram quick replies?
Quick replies, now named Saved replies, are answers you write once and drop into any Instagram chat with a short shortcut. They're built for the messages you get every day: price lists, opening hours, where to order, how long delivery takes.
They're available on professional accounts (Business or Creator). Guides that send you to “Settings, Business, Quick replies” are describing an older layout; the feature now lives under your tools and controls.
How to set up Saved replies
- 1. Open Instagram and go to your profile.
- 2. Tap the menu (three lines) and open Settings and privacy.
- 3. Tap Business tools and controls, or Creator tools and controls on a creator account.
- 4. Tap Saved replies, then add a new one.
- 5. Enter a short shortcut, such as hours or price, and the full message. Save it.
How to use a saved reply in a chat
Open the conversation and type / to see your saved replies, or type the shortcut itself. Tap the one you want and it fills the message box. Edit anything that should be personal, such as the person's name, before you send.
Keep shortcuts to one memorable word. A shortcut you have to look up is one you won't use.

Change the bracketed parts before you save them. Plain and specific beats cheerful and vague.

Saved replies vs auto-replies vs AI replies
Disclosure: PersonaXpand is our product. It answers Instagram DMs and comments in your own voice, learned from how you actually write, and holds each draft for one-tap approval until you trust it. The safeguard that matters for business messages: when someone asks for a price, an address, opening hours or availability, it doesn't make one up. That message is left for you, so the saved replies above stay useful for exactly those questions. More in Instagram DM auto-reply.
- Saved replies: you still read every message and tap to send. Fast, but only while you're in the app.
- Meta's automatic replies: instant replies, away messages and FAQ buttons set in Meta Business Suite. They answer the first message the same way for everyone.
- AI replies in your voice: each message read and answered the way you'd answer it, even while you're away.
