Where these templates go
Message templates are pasted into Meta Business Suite: open Inbox, then Automations, and choose Instant reply, Away message or Frequently asked questions. The same reply can fire on Messenger and Instagram together. The full steps are in the Facebook Messenger auto-reply guide.
Comment templates are different. Meta's comment option sends a private message to people whose comment contains a word you choose, but it does not post a public reply under the comment. Keep comment templates to paste yourself, or use a tool that replies to comments for you.
Welcome message templates (instant reply)
Sent as soon as the first message arrives. Use the Add personalization button to insert the sender's name instead of typing [name].
- Formal: “Hi [name], thanks for getting in touch. Your message has reached us and we'll reply within [two hours] during working hours.”
- Friendly: “Hi [name]! Great to hear from you. I'll read this and reply myself shortly.”
- For a creator: “Welcome! Thanks for the message. I read every one and reply within [a day], so hang tight.”
- With an urgent option: “Thanks for reaching out. We'll reply within [two hours]; if it's urgent, call us on [number].”
Away message templates
The away message sends itself during the hours you set. Be honest about when you are back.
- General: “Thanks for your message. We're outside working hours right now and will get back to you [tomorrow from 9am].”
- Weekend: “Hi! We're off for the weekend and will answer every message in order on [Sunday].”
- Holidays: “Happy holidays! We're away until [date] and will reply as soon as we're back.”
Templates for common questions
These fit the Frequently asked questions section in Meta Business Suite, or you can paste them by hand.
- Price: “Happy to help! The price depends on [the service], so tell me [the detail I need] and I'll send you an exact figure.”
- Booking: “You can book directly here: [link]. If none of the times suit you, tell me what works.”
- Location and hours: “We're at [address], open [Sunday to Thursday, 9am to 6pm].”
- Link request: “Of course! Here's the link: [link]. Let me know if anything doesn't work.”
- Collaboration request: “Thanks for your interest in working together! Send the idea and timing to [email] and I'll get back to you.”
Comment reply templates
A short reply that picks up something from the comment itself beats the same “thanks” under every comment.
- Thanks for a kind comment: “Thank you [name]! That means a lot.”
- Thanks with a follow-up: “So glad [the topic] helped! Part two goes up [on Thursday].”
- Details sent: “I've sent you the details in a private message, check your inbox.”
- Invite to message: “Great question! The short answer: [answer]. Message me directly if you want the details.”
- Complaint: “Sorry about your experience, we want to fix this. Message us the order details and we'll follow up today.”
- Calm criticism: “Thanks for the honest feedback, I'll take it on board for [the next post].”
Seasonal greeting replies
- Ramadan: “Ramadan Kareem, and may it be accepted from all of us!”
- Eid: “Eid Mubarak, and many happy returns!”
- Friday: “Jumma Mubarak to you and your family!”
How to keep an auto-reply from sounding automated
- Use the sender's name through Add personalization.
- Don't promise what you can't keep: “we reply instantly” followed by two days of silence is worse than no auto-reply.
- Write the way your audience writes, formal or casual.
- Update holiday and seasonal templates before the date, and remove them after.
When templates are not enough
A template reassures the sender, but it cannot answer a question you did not expect. PersonaXpand is our product: it writes a reply to each comment and message in your own style, learned from replies you have actually sent and from your posts, and in the language the comment was written in, Arabic for Arabic and English for English.
It replies to comments on Instagram, Facebook, X, YouTube and Threads, and to private messages on Instagram and Facebook. You can check every reply before it sends with one tap, or let routine replies send on their own. It does not support WhatsApp, and there is no setting for a particular dialect.
