Can you see TikTok Analytics on a personal account?
Yes. TikTok's Help Center lists TikTok Analytics among the features of a general account, which is what most people call a personal account. The one condition: you need at least one public post.
Plenty of guides, including some published in 2026, still tell you to switch to a Pro or Business account first. That was TikTok's rule back in 2020. Business accounts do still get their numbers, in TikTok's Business Suite.
Where to find TikTok Analytics
- In the TikTok app: go to your profile, tap the menu bars (☰), choose TikTok Studio, then open Analytics and tap View all. Some accounts also have a TikTok Studio button under the bio.
- In the TikTok Studio app: the Analytics tab sits in the bar at the bottom of the screen.
- On a computer: open tiktok.com/tiktokstudio/analytics. Or open TikTok Studio on the web and pick the Analytics tab on the left.
Date ranges, and how far back you can go
- Pick the last 7, 28, 60 or 365 days, or set a custom range.
- On the web, a custom range can only reach back to July 17, 2022. For anything older, use the app.
- You can download your data for up to 365 days at a time.
What each tab shows
TikTok Studio splits your stats into four tabs, plus a LIVE section if you go live.
| Tab | What you see |
|---|---|
| Overview | Post views, profile views, likes, comments, shares and estimated rewards, plus traffic source (how people found your posts) and the search queries that led them there |
| Content | Your 10 top posts for the period, ranked by views, likes, new viewers and new followers |
| Viewers | Unique and returning viewers, their likely gender, age and location (TikTok estimates these), and when they were most active in the last 7 days |
| Followers | Your followers' gender, age and top locations, and the hours and days they're on TikTok |
| LIVE | Number of LIVEs, total LIVE views and time, new and unique viewers, new followers and Diamonds, for the last 7 to 28 days |
The numbers for a single video
Tap any video in Analytics to see how it did on its own. These are the three that tell you the most:
- Retention rate: how much of the video people watched, shown as a percentage. A sharp drop in the first seconds means the opening isn't holding them.
- Average watch time: how long viewers stayed, on average.
- Watched full video: the share of viewers who stayed until the last few seconds. TikTok also calls this your finish rate.
- Traffic sources: where the views came from, such as the For You feed, your profile, search or a sound.
The four numbers worth checking every week
For an engagement rate you can compare month to month, add up likes, comments and shares, divide by views and multiply by 100. The TikTok engagement rate calculator does the sum for you.
- Watched full video, on every post. It's the clearest verdict on your hook and length. Compare your own videos with each other, not with other accounts.
- Traffic source. Mostly For You means TikTok is recommending you to new people. A growing share from Search means people look for your topic, so title and caption your videos the way they search.
- Search queries. The exact words that brought people to you. Each one is a ready-made idea for your next video.
- Most active times. The hours your viewers and followers are on TikTok. Post just before them.
What outside apps can and can't see
Many "best TikTok tools" lists skip this part. When you connect TikTok to another app, TikTok's developer API only hands over views, likes, comments and shares per video, and your follower, following, like and video counts.
Watch time, retention, traffic sources, search queries and audience details are not in that API. You'll only find them in TikTok Studio, so any app showing them is estimating, not reading TikTok's own figures.
Where PersonaXpand fits
Disclosure: PersonaXpand is our product. It posts your videos to TikTok and, from the same upload, to Instagram, YouTube, Facebook and four more networks, each with its own caption. It doesn't show TikTok's numbers: for those, TikTok Studio is the place, and it's free.
