Can you schedule TikTok posts?
Yes, from a computer. TikTok's own scheduler lives in TikTok Studio on the web, and lets you set a post to go out at a chosen time, up to about 10 days ahead for most accounts. The TikTok phone app posts right away; it doesn't schedule.
How to schedule a TikTok in TikTok Studio
- 1. On a computer, go to tiktok.com, log in, and open TikTok Studio (or click Upload).
- 2. Upload your video and choose a cover.
- 3. Write the caption and set who can watch and comment.
- 4. Under when to post, choose Schedule and pick the date and time.
- 5. Click Schedule. Scheduled posts are listed in TikTok Studio, where you can delete one before it goes out.
TikTok limits that older guides get wrong
- Video length: videos recorded in the app run up to 10 minutes, and uploads can be much longer, up to 60 minutes as TikTok rolls it out to more accounts. Guides that say scheduled videos are capped at 1 or 10 minutes are out of date. Studio shows the limit for your account.
- How far ahead: about 10 days is what most accounts get in TikTok Studio. Some report longer on desktop; your Studio date picker is the final word.
- Captions: long captions are allowed in the app, but anything posted through an outside app is limited to 2,200 characters. See the TikTok character counter.
- Shape: vertical 9:16, ideally 1080 by 1920 pixels.
Where TikTok's scheduler stops
- Computer only. No scheduling from the app.
- About 10 days. A month of videos can't be lined up in one go.
- TikTok only. The same video still has to go to Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts and Facebook separately.
