Can you schedule videos on YouTube?
Yes, on every channel and for free. You upload the video now, set it as scheduled, and YouTube keeps it private until the date and time you choose, then makes it public. It works in YouTube Studio on a computer and in the YouTube app.
YouTube's help doesn't give a limit on how far ahead you can schedule. It does say one thing to watch: if your channel has a Community Guidelines strike, a scheduled video won't publish during the penalty period. It stays private and you have to schedule it again afterwards.
How to schedule a YouTube video in YouTube Studio
- 1. Sign in to YouTube Studio (studio.youtube.com) on your computer.
- 2. Click Create, then Upload videos.
- 3. Select the file and fill in the title, description, thumbnail and the other details.
- 4. On the visibility step, click the Schedule card.
- 5. Set the date, the time and the time zone you want it to go public.
- 6. Click Schedule. The video waits in your Content list as scheduled.
How to change the time of a scheduled YouTube video
- 1. In YouTube Studio, choose Content in the left menu and select the video.
- 2. Open the Visibility setting.
- 3. To move it, keep the visibility on Private, click Edit draft and choose the new time under Schedule.
- 4. To put it live straight away, set the visibility to Public instead.
- 5. Click Publish to save the change.
How to schedule a YouTube Premiere
A Premiere is a scheduled video that viewers watch together, with a countdown and a live chat. In YouTube Studio, choose Schedule on the visibility step, set the date and time, and tick Set as Premiere. Click Set up Premiere to pick the countdown. In the app, choose Set as Premiere on the Set visibility page.
Two things can't premiere: Shorts, and 360 or VR180 videos or anything output above 1080p. Those can still be scheduled the normal way.
Time zones and the date under your video
You pick the time zone when you schedule, so the video goes public at the right local time. The date shown on the watch page is a different matter: YouTube bases it on Pacific Time. If you schedule a video for early morning in a time zone ahead of Pacific Time, the date under the video can show the day before. For a specific date on the page, schedule it for that date in Pacific Time.
How to schedule YouTube with your other networks
YouTube Studio only schedules YouTube. Disclosure: PersonaXpand is our product, and it's built to be easy to use. You upload the video once on your computer, choose YouTube and any of the other networks you use (TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, Threads, Bluesky), and set the time. Each network gets its own caption, YouTube gets its title and description, and you choose public, unlisted or private. A vertical or square video of 3 minutes or less goes to YouTube as a Short.
PersonaXpand uploads the video through YouTube's official API at the time you set, so it appears in YouTube Studio then, not before. When comments come in, it drafts replies in your own voice for you to approve with a tap. Check the length limits first in video length limits for every network.
