The short answer
To manage social media with Claude, add a social media connector from Claude's connector directory, sign in, and choose what Claude may do. Then ask in plain words: “Schedule this for Instagram and LinkedIn on Friday at 9”, “What did people ask me today?” or “How did last week's posts do?”.
This guide uses PersonaXpand, the social media connector we make, so weigh that accordingly. The steps are the same idea for any connector: Claude talks to the tool, and the tool talks to your networks through their official sign-ins. Claude never sees your social media passwords.
What you need before you start
- A Claude account. Claude's help center says connectors work on the free plan as well as paid plans, with some limits, on the web, desktop and mobile apps.
- A PersonaXpand account with at least one network connected. Claude uses those connections; it never asks for your Instagram or LinkedIn password.
- Five minutes. Most of it is signing in once.
How to connect Claude to your social media, step by step
Using ChatGPT or another assistant instead? The same connector works there: search for PersonaXpand in its apps or connectors, or add a custom connector with the address https://personaxpand.com/mcp. Full details are on the Claude and ChatGPT page.
- 1. Open Claude's connectors. Go to Connectors in Claude's settings, or open the “+” menu in a chat and choose connectors.
- 2. Find PersonaXpand. Open PersonaXpand in the Claude directory and press Connect.
- 3. Sign in to PersonaXpand in the window that opens, with your email and password or Google.
- 4. Choose the access. Read only lets Claude look at your posts, inbox and numbers. Read and act also lets it post, schedule and reply. Press Allow. You get an email whenever a new assistant is allowed on your account.
- 5. Ask. Start with something small, like “Show me what I have scheduled this week.”
10 things to ask Claude once it's connected
Plain requests work. These are the ones people use most, grouped by job.
- Plan: “Plan a week of posts about our new menu, one a day, and show me the drafts first.”
- Post: “Write a post about our weekend opening hours and schedule it for Instagram and Facebook at my best time.”
- Post: “Turn this blog link into a LinkedIn post and an X post, and publish both now.”
- Reschedule: “Show me the posts I have scheduled this week, and move Thursday's one to Friday 9am.”
- Inbox: “What comments and DMs came in today? Draft replies to the questions.”
- Inbox: “Approve the reply drafts that are waiting, except the one about prices.”
- Report: “How did my posts do over the last 30 days? Which network worked best?”
- Timing: “When is my audience most active on Instagram?”
- Automation: “Add a rule: when someone comments PRICE, reply with the link to our menu.”
- Automation: “Turn auto-replies off for my X account for now.”

Is it safe to let Claude post for you?
It's as safe as the access you give it, and you can narrow that at any time.
- Only your account. Claude can only see and change your own PersonaXpand account.
- Replies wait for you. Claude shows each reply and sends it only after you say yes.
- No stranger links. A reply can't include a link that arrived in someone's message unless you used it yourself first.
- Secrets stay hidden. Card numbers, one-time codes and passwords people send you are hidden before Claude sees the message.
- A record of everything. Account Settings, then Connected apps, lists every change an assistant made or tried, for 90 days.
- Your chats stay private. PersonaXpand receives only the requests Claude sends, never your conversation.
Claude or the app: which should you use?
Use Claude when the job starts as a thought: a week of posts to plan, a question about your numbers, a pile of comments to get through while you're already in a chat. Use the PersonaXpand app when the job is visual: checking how a post will look on each network, uploading a video, or posting to TikTok.
Most people end up using both. Auto-replies keep running in the app whether Claude is open or not, so the chat is for the decisions, not the routine.
